Honoring the Wins That Don’t Make the Highlight Reel: A Year-End Reflection

As the year winds down, the air often fills with celebrations of milestones, achievements, and victories.  My feed is flooded with posts celebrating milestones and achievements. LinkedIn, in particular, feels like a highlight reel of promotions, new ventures, certifications, and ambitious goals checked off. Don’t get me wrong—I love seeing these moments. They’re a testament to hard work and determination, and they deserve to be celebrated.

But what about the moments that don’t make it to our feeds? The quieter victories. The resilience it takes to get through a tough day. The courage to keep going when everything feels heavy. The self-compassion to rest when you need it most.

If your year didn’t come with shiny milestones or LinkedIn-worthy updates, I want you to know this: you’re still worthy of celebration. Life isn’t just about the big wins—it’s also about the strength it takes to show up, to adapt, and to keep moving forward, even if it’s at a slower pace than you’d like.

This year, I’ve been reflecting on my own quieter victories. There were days when I didn’t feel particularly accomplished, but I kept going anyway. Some weeks, my greatest achievement was choosing to prioritize rest or saying “no” to things that didn’t serve me. Those choices—though they may not come with applause—are a form of self-leadership, and they matter.

So as we wrap up this year, I invite you to join me in celebrating the small things. Honor the moments you pushed through challenges. Reflect on the ways you grew, even if the growth was messy or imperfect.

And here’s the truth: not every year will be about milestones. Sometimes, it’s about weathering the storm and coming out the other side. Those years, too, are worth celebrating.

So here’s to you—to all your resilience, to the quiet strength that carried you, and to the hope that next year will bring more peace, kindness, and joy. Thank you for showing up for yourself this year, even when it wasn’t easy.

That is the kind of success that truly matters. 🌟
